ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

This institution was established as Teacher Training Institute (TTI) in the academic year 1984-85 vide G.O.No.168Edn.Dt.12-03-1984 along with ten other institutions in the state. The main function of this institute was to impart one year pre-service training to plus two passed candidates to enable them to become elementary school teachers.

Govt. of India has adopted National Policy on Education in the year 1986 to bring about qualitative changes in the education system. To be able to achieve the long cherished goal of Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE)., it has been felt that the elementary schools have to be made attractive places and teachers working there need to be given periodical refresher training courses. This as the main objective, all the TTIs in the state have been upgraded as DIETs in phased manner. TTINZB was upgraded as DIET vide G.O MS No 121 Edn Dated: 10-05-1990. New building was constructed for the institute in about 10 acres of area, into which the institution moved in the year 1992.

The institution has seven academic branches to strengthen the professional competencies among the elementary teachers in the district. The government launched English Medium section from 2017-18, with 50 seats each section, Now at DIET Nizamabad, Telugu Medium, English Medium and Urdu Medium, Sections are conducting.
